Data in the Sperrstunde App

Sperrstunde helps block selected apps, websites, or categories at scheduled times. To provide this functionality, the settings you create are stored locally on your device.

• Name or nickname used inside the app
• Onboarding information, for example why you want to use Sperrstunde
• Active nights, sleep time, wake-up time, and block windows
• Selection of apps, websites, or categories to block
• Sperrstunde status, pause status, and simple progress values such as protected time or streak
• Subscription status, where checked through Apple StoreKit to unlock the app

This processing is necessary to provide the app functions, especially setup, control, and display of your Sperrstunde. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where we process data for stability, security, or improvement of the app, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Screen Time and App Selection

For blocking functionality, Sperrstunde uses Apple's Screen Time, Family Controls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings features. Your selection is stored through tokens provided by Apple. This allows Sperrstunde to block selected apps, websites, or categories, but it does not read content from those apps.

We do not see what you write, view, search for, or open in other apps. Sperrstunde does not read feeds, messages, photos, contacts, or browser content. You can revoke Screen Time permissions in the iOS settings.

Storage and Deletion in the App

App data is generally stored locally on your iPhone or in the Apple system areas intended for this purpose. No separate hafencity.dev account is created, and Sperrstunde does not sync this data to our own servers.

You can change stored settings, remove your app selection, or reset onboarding inside the app. You can also delete the app, which removes locally stored app data. System-level Screen Time permissions and App Store subscriptions are managed in the respective Apple settings.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Apple and the App Store. Payment data, billing data, and subscription management are handled by Apple. Sperrstunde checks through Apple StoreKit whether an active subscription exists so the app can be unlocked.

You can cancel or manage a subscription through your Apple ID or the subscription management area in the App Store. We do not receive complete payment details from Apple.

Website

When visiting this website, technical access data may be processed, for example IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and device information, and status codes. This processing is used to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

This landing page does not use advertising pixels, session recording, or Google Analytics. If the website is delivered through an external hosting provider, that provider may process technical access data to provide and secure the website.

Contact

If you contact us by email, we process your information to respond to your request. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Recipients

Recipients of personal data may include Apple as provider of iOS, Screen Time, Family Controls, StoreKit, and the App Store, as well as technical service providers for website operation and email communication. We do not share data for advertising purposes.

Your Rights

Within the scope of applicable law, you have rights to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to certain processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In particular, the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information may be responsible.

Objection

Where we process data based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to the processing for reasons arising from your particular situation. To do so, email moin@hafencity.dev.

Changes

We update this privacy policy when the app, the website, or legal requirements change.
